Pre-Solicitation Notice
Cape Cod Canal – Inspect and Rehabilitate Bridge Bearings (Bourne and Sagamore Bridges)
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the Inspect and Rehabilitate Bridge Bearings (Bourne and Sagamore Bridges) project at the Cape Cod Canal located in Bourne, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 237310. The project is planned to be issued in February 2022 and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
Construction work for this project shall consist of the removal of debris, grease, and deteriorated concrete that has accumulated on the bearing seat and in between bearings on the piers for both the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges. The Contractor shall also be required to conduct ultrasonic testing of all bearing pins, repaint the entire bearing system from one foot above the top of each bearing's respective pin down to the bridge seat, lubricate all roller and rocker bearings, replace corroded existing bearing side plates and their associated fasteners with galvanized elements, and reattach the anchor bolt covering boxes to the bearings with waterproofing sealer.
In addition to debris removal on the bearing seat and between piers, the Contractor shall be required to remove concrete debris and grease that has accumulated on the Sagamore's south abutment bridge seat.
Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents which will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about February 2022. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the System for Award Management website (www.sam.gov).
