Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Academy, intends to award a single source contract to FlightSafety International Melville, NY for proposed Initial and Recurrent Pilot Training in the HondaJet HA-420 aircraft for FAA Inspectors and Pilots.
In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to FlightSafety International based on the following: In accordance with the FAA training requirements established by policy, AIR. and AFB-500: all training for FAA Inspectors and/or pilots must be obtained within an approved training program as set forth in 14 CFR Parts 121, 135, 141 or 142 as applicable and pursuant to the PWS and requirements of Flight Standards and Aircraft Certification services. FlightSafety International has been identified as the only source capable of providing the required training with the appropriate FAA certifications. FlightSafety International has the only FAA approved training program and operates the only Full Flight Simulator for this aircraft.
This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to FlightSafety International Melville, NY and is not available for full and open competition.
