Description

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is seeking Design-Build Services for PV Array System.

(Amended)

NREL’s Flatirons Campus is home to research assets in support of the Department of Energy (DOE)/ NREL’s Advanced Research in Integrated Energy Systems (ARIES). ARIES research is conducted in five specific research and development pillars including power electronics which is the pillar most closely aligned with this project.

DOE’s Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO) is leading development of the foundational elements of the ARIES Power Electronic Grid Interface (PEGI) platform. PEGI research assets enable exploration of diverse grid impacts of power electronics, including everything from consumer electronics like modern refrigerators and electric vehicles, to inverter-based resources like wind, solar photovoltaics, battery systems, and the next generation of grid technologies that are revolutionizing medium- and low-voltage power systems.

The purpose of this project is to design and install a 2MW fixed-axis, ground-mounted, crystalline silicon-based Photovoltaic (PV) array with a direct DC connection directly to DC research assets, the scope is defined further in Attachment 1 - Appendix A - Statement of Work (SOW).  Please refer to attachment for full details of the solicitation.
