5-AXIS MACHINE MAINTENANCE

This is a combined RFI/Sources Sought/Notice of Intent issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 on behalf of the Commander, Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD. The Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), located at Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida utilizes a suite of nine (9) Mitsui Seiki 5-Axis Machining Centers in its manufacturing processes. The machining centers are used to produce various aircraft parts and components for F/A-18 A-D, H-60, P-8, and P-3 aircraft. This procurement is for the scheduled preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance repair services for all nine (9) machines identified in the attached PWS. The Contractor is further responsible for all labor, materials (including sealants, lubricants, oils, etc.) tools and equipment necessary for proper servicing/maintenance of the machining centers.

FRCSE is an industrial facility that performs rework, repair, and overhaul of various aircraft, engines, and components.  To support the depot level maintenance operations, various industrial equipment along with equipment sustainment efforts are needed to meet fleet aircraft operational schedules, obtain solutions for product line obsolescence issues along with materially aged and technologically dated equipment that negatively impacts the command’s capacity to support 4th and 5th generation weapon systems.

The NAICS code for this acquisition is 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance. Although this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, interested parties may submit capability statements via email to the Contract Specialist, Zacerry Herbert at zacerry.g.herbert.civ@us.navy.mil.  A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
