Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District seeks a Contractor to supply and deliver a new Northwoods forest themed play system, landscape fabric, 8” composite border with staking and rubber mulch. The play system will replace an outdated playground with sand. The removal of the existing playground and complete installation of the new play system will be completed by the Corps of Engineers using Government labor. 

The play equipment supplied shall be Northwoods forest themed and incorporate natural features such a trees, logs, stones or other Northwoods forest related plants and animals. Play equipment, surfacing and borders must be ADA compliant or better. Play equipment shall not include any natural or treated wood products, or any painted material (e.g. plastic, engineered wood fiber and powder coated or anodized metal are acceptable, pressure treated lumber decking and painted plywood are not).

The main play equipment shall include a minimum of 16 different activities or components. Additional accessory components are allowed and encouraged if main play equipment does not maximize the allowable play space. The play equipment must include at least: 3 slides, climber, and both ground and raised level activities.

The play system and components shall be designed for children ages 5 - 12. The main play equipment shall accomodate a minimum of 55 users. 

The Maximum Use Zone is 56 feet by 40 feet. The minimum use zone is 52 feet x 40 feet. Width limits cannot be exceeded due to existing trees adjacent to play site and potential impacts to cultural resources.

Award will be made on the basis of best value offered to the Government. Please see solicitation provision 52.212-2 for information on how offers will be evaluated.

Quote Packages must include the following:

  • Engineered drawings of play system and associated components
  • Installation Instructions
  • Description of all play activities
  • List of playground materials
  • Proposed layout of equipment (to maximize use of space)
  • Photos or Drawings of equipment showing theme
  • Complete text of warranty terms and conditions

Quotes that do not include all of the items listed above may be considered incomplete and therefore nonresponsive.

Quotes must be RECEIVED no later than the Offer Due Date/Time listed in the SAM.gov solicitation posting.
Quotes received after the deadline are considered late, and may not be considered for award.

AMENDMENT 0001 HAS BEEN POSTED

Amendment 0001 extends the solicitation close date. The preferred way to specifically acknowledge receipt of the amendment is to complete blocks 15A, 15B and 15C and return the signed first page of the form SF30.
