Description

Solar GPS bird transmitters and depth sensors, Quantity 30

USGS has a requirement for 30 GPS tags (<12g) that can: 1) be safely attached to seabirds; 2) collect precise and accurate geo-location (latitude/longitude) data from seabirds at sea; 3) use solar power to extend data recording capability while devices are deployed (<1-2 weeks); 4) download data using UHF radio signals to base station storage units and/or download data to 3G cellular network; and, 5) be deployed on diving seabirds, which can dive to extreme depths, e.g., as much as 200m in common murres.
