Description

This acquisition is for a Hamamatsu NanoZoomer S360 scanner, which is needed to offer state-of-the-art digital slide scanning of Brightfield slides, provide consistency between government and contract labs, and scan at a rate fast enough to support our increasing large project requests. The S360 would work seamlessly with our Hamamatsu S60 (which is a smaller scanner that can handle 60 slides in 3 hours, as well as handles our fluorescent scanning requests.) The optical and computed properties of digitalized tissue samples are often impacted by slide scanner differences, therefore having a single scanning manufacturer is necesary.  The NanoZoomer S360 is able to scan 82 slides per hour at 40x magnification.
