The F-15 wing tip forms the outermost portion of the F-15 wing structure. It is critical for aerodynamic performance and the stability of the outer wing. It also houses antennae and position/formation lights.

The Grid-Lock wing tip design is based off hi-speed machining of two aluminum halves which are

epoxy bonded together. Grid-Lock wing tips have been in service with the USAF for approximately 10 years resulting in a significant decrease in repair costs. They are also used on Boeing’s new production F-15’s.

The Grid-Lock wing tip was designed and produced by Tolo, later UTAS, now Rohr is the sole source (DBA Collins Aerospace). The technical data is proprietary property of Rohr.
