Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Ultrasound Equipment at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Southeastern Markets Contracting Division intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.501(a) sole source acquisitions). The proposed source is BK Medical Holding Company, 25 Corporate DR., STE. 230, Burlington, Massachusetts, 01803-4258.

This is a requirement to provide ultrasound equipment in support of  Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The ultrasound system must be an all-in-one unit and needs to have MRI fusion capabilities, along with a Robotic DaVinci drop in probe, Neurosurgery probes, and OB/GYN ultrasound probes. All probes must be compatible with the ultrasound machines. The Ultrasound system must be compatible with existing MIM software. The ultrasound system needs to be able to fuse already existing MRI prostate images with the ultrasound live image and create a 3D image of the prostate while doing a prostate biopsy procedure.

There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement.  The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510 – Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement.  However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same equipment at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.  A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
