Description
Amendment #2 - extends bid date, updates how bids are to be submitted, and provides answers to questions received to date.
Amendment #1 - adds additional applicable clauses and provisions, uploads missing drawings, and revises drawing 866-B522-02, and addresses minor clarifications in the scope. This amendment also publishes answers to questions received to date.
The USACE Marine Design Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is posting an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of one new crane barge to replace anexisting crane barge currently in operation at the Sault Ste Marie Area office for the Detroit District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
When complete, the new crane barge will have the following characteristics:
• Built to and classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as Maltese Cross A-1Steel Barge, Great Lakes Service.
• The barge intact stability will satisfy 46 CFR 170.170 and 46 CFR 174.015 in all loadingconditions.
• Length of the hull molded = 150 feet
• Beam molded = 50 feet
• Depth at sides (molded) = 10 feet
• Design waterline = 5 feet
• Camber = 4 inches
Contractor will be required to fabricate and deliver the barge to the Government.
Delivery and final acceptance will be at the St. Mary’s Falls Canal, Sault Sainte Marie,Michigan.
There will be liquidated damages associated with this procurement.
Bid guarantee, payment, and performance bonding will be required.
