Intent to Award to Sole Source

The Mission Installation Command, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA (JBLM), intends to award/negotiate a Fixed-Price contract with Astrophysics Inc. The services will be provided at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. The sole source authority FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The contractor Astrophysics Inc. located at 21481 FERRERO PKWY, CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA 91789 is the sole source supplier and warranty service provider of the XIS line of X-ray inspection systems in the United States. Our Authorized Dealers act as sales representatives on our behalf. They provide product demonstrations and other services to customers. The XIS line of X-ray inspection systems is sold only as a direct transaction between Astrophysics Inc. and the end-user.  The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 811219 and the size standard is $22.0M.

This is not a request for competitive quotes. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency before the intended award date. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. The Government shall not reimburse interested sources for any information provided. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part any subsequent solicitation requirement. No telephonic inquires will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
