Description

THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format and procedures in FAR Part 12, FAR Part 15, FAR Section 16.202, and FAR Section 16.504 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.  Military Sealift Command (MSC) intends to award a single Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with firm-fixed price Task Orders.  The contract will be for a five year ordering period upon award.  This is not a Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications, or drawings available at this time.  

The purpose of this requirement is to acquire non-personal services from a single contractor to perform engineering, technical support, and specialized services associated with the maintenance of shipboard material readiness.  Primary emphases will be on shipboard testing, inspection, Safety Management System programs, and Damage Control – Environmental Protection programs required to maintain material readiness of the MSC fleet of approximately 130 vessels. The area of performance for these services will be world-wide, including onboard MSC ships, at Government shore-based offices, and contracted private shipyards and repair facilities.
