6520--Intent to sole source Carestream Dental x-ray Unit-RAY UNITS

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) hereby gives notice of the Government s intent to sole source a purchase order for Dental X Ray Machines with Carestream Health Inc., off their FSS contract, for the Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Castle Point Campus at 41 Castle Point Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 and the Montrose Campus, 2094 Albany Post Road, Montrose NY 10548. The Castle Point Campus Dental department is in need of Dental X Ray Machines which is compatible with the current MiPacs Dental database and imaging capturing software built into the MiPacs system at the facility. The Dental X ray is required to ensure that Dental staff have the proper equipment to complete timely dental x-ray imaging and preventing any type of delay to the care of Veterans. It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the only one that can provide Castle Point and Montrose Campuses with the Dental X ray machines that are needed. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339114 (Dental Equipment and instruments manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 750 Employees and the Federal Supply Code (FSC) is 6520 (Dental Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies). A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
