THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS; THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY.
SUBJECT: DeCA Industry Day
The purpose of this request for information notice is to perform market research to gain knowledge of industry best practices and use of data, communication and transportation standards in regard to fresh fruits and vegetable processes. Response to this notification is not an adequate response to any future solicitation for the commodity described in this request for information. The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is seeking information from industry sources on how best to provide a full line of Fresh Fruits & Vegetables, packaged salads, live potted plants, and ornamental produce to various commissary facilities assigned to specific Areas and Groups within the Continental United States (CONUS) and its Territories.
An industry round table discussion will be convened on Wednesday September 13, 2023. The round table discussion is scheduled for 0900 am in the Multi-Purpose Vendor Rooms, at DeCA HQ, 1300 Eisenhower Avenue, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia 23801-1800. All interested participants are invited, but must respond to the attached questionnaire (TAB A), and return to DeCA via email in advance of the round table discussions.
