Denny Creek Parking Lot Expansion Phase II - Mt Baker Snoqualmie NF

SPECIAL NOTICE POSTING FOR PRE-BID SITE VISIT

This is notification specifically for a site visit for a future project due to winter weather that may not allow for said visit during the solicitation period. The anticipated period of performance is June 2023 – November 2023.

Project Description:

This project will add over 100 new parking spaces and a connector road at the popular Denny Creek/Franklin Falls recreation area. The road will connect the new parking lot with the existing parking lot and create a user-friendly vehicle loop in this often-congested recreation area. The project site is located approximately 17 miles east of North Bend, WA off Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass, WA. 

The project is anticipated to cost between 2 million to 3 million dollars.

Project Elements:

The project is expected to include construction of the following elements:

• • • approximately 800 ft of one-way road with standard asphalt
      • includes 13 angled roadside parking stalls
    • two pervious asphalt parking lots
      • 57 stalls and 33 stalls
    • approximately 800-ft of gravel connecting trails
    • a double vault concrete toilet
    • one information kiosk
    • two ADA parking stalls
    • road signage installation and striping/painting
    • drainage work and culvert installations
    • Rock drilling may be involved

Project Location:

The project is located on the Snoqualmie Ranger District in King County, Washington. From Exit 47 on I-90, go to the north side of the freeway, turn right at the ‘T’ intersection, go about 500’ and turn left on to Road #58 just after the underpass. Then take FS Road #58 for 2.5 miles east and north to the project site.

GPS coordinates are Latitude: 47.4151035784 and Longitude: -121.443289887.

The approximate elevation is 2300 feet.

Site Visit: November 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. PST. Denny Creek trailhead parking lot. Attendance at this site visit is not a requirement to bid but is highly recommended.
