Description

The USDA Forest Service intends to issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for rehabilitation/repair of Forest Service Marine Facilities in Petersburg. The work is located in Region 10, Tongass National Forest, Petersburg Ranger District within Southeast Alaska. The major construction efforts include but are not limited to dock improvement and gangway improvement. The contractor will provide for all work indicated in the project SOW and Specifications in order to provide the USFS with an operational floating dock system which will include when prescribed; docks, utility connections, gangway repair, abutments patching, trestle access, float repair/replacement, as well as other incidental waterfront repairs resulting in a safe and fully functional assets suitable for its intended application by the USFS.

The contract period of performance will not exceed April 2, 2024.       

The magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000.  A Bid Bond (20%) will be required of Offerors whose total price offer exceeds $150,000. Performance and Payment Bonds (100% each) will be required of awardee for award greater than $150,000.

The selection process, and evaluation criteria to be addressed, will be outlined in the forthcoming solicitation. The solicitation will be available for download exclusively via https://www.sam.gov on or about 2/23/2023. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued. The Government intends to award without discussions, however, reserves the right to conduct discussions should it be deemed in the Government’s best interest.

Note:  Per FAR 52.204-7(b)(1), System for Award Management (SAM), an Offeror is required to be registered in SAM when submitting an offer and shall continue to be registered until time of award, during performance, and through final payment for any contract resulting from this solicitation.  Information on registration may be obtained via:  https://www.sam.gov.  All Offerors must complete the electronic version of the Representations and Certifications in the SAM system.
