Steam Trap Replacements, VA Connecticut Healthcare System, VAMC West Haven and VAMC Newington Procurement Number: 36C24122B0010 This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation satisfying the requirements of FAR 5.201 and FAR 5.203. An invitation for bids will be posted on or about May 26, 2022. The VA Connecticut Healthcare System, VA Medical Center located in West Haven, CT has a requirement for a Firmed Fixed Price construction project that requires a general contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform work under the Steam Trap Replacements project. The general scope of this project is to replace the steam traps identified by the 2020 Steam Trap survey on the West Haven and Newington Campuses. The contractor is to perform the recommended repairs titled Steam Trap Replacements contained within the steam trap survey report for each campus. Various types of traps that require replacement are thermostatic, float and thermostatic, orifice, inverted bucket, and bimetallic. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238220 and the size standard is $16.5 Million. The solicitation is being issued as an Invitation for Bids (IFB) under FAR Part 14. A bid bond is required, and the bid guarantee amount shall be at least 20 percent of the bid price but shall not exceed $3 million. This project is 100% set-aside for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
