Description

Sediment Removal and Concrete Repairs, Johnstown Local Flood Protection Project FY23, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement to complete channel maintenance work within the River boundaries of Conemaugh River, in the Local Flood Protection Project, in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. More specifically, the work area is located between Power Street downstream to the terminus of the project. This project extends past the Johnstown Wire factory. The major features of the requirements are identified below: The overall contract scope of work consists of furnishing all supplies, materials, equipment and labor as necessary to remove approximately 27,000 cubic yards of sediment that will be disposed of at a properly permitted facility and to restore the channel to as-built conditions in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. These sediment deposits will be sampled, removed, and disposed of in accordance with current State and Federal regulations including sampling and sediment control. Also work will include the cleaning/repairing of approximately 3,400 weepholes along the concrete slopes and cleaning/resealing of approximately 17,100 linear feet of concrete expansion joints. This work will occur over a length of approximately 10,500 linear feet of river channel. The work area can be accessed from two (2) existing ramp locations at the intersection of Power Street and 6th Avenue and the Laurel Avenue bridge. The work shall be completed within 365 calendar days after written Notice to Proceed.
