Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to initiate a sources sought notice to gather market research to identify resources available to remove one lattice boom crane and install one Government furnished knuckle boom pedestal crane on the Debris Recovery Vessel M/V PUGET.
This sources sought notice is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This is NOT a REQUEST for PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, or BIDS. Responses to this request will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via sam.gov.
The Seattle District of the Corps of Engineers intends to remove the existing Link Belt HC-218 lattice boom crane on the M/V PUGET servicing the Puget Sound and replace it with one (1) Government furnished pedestal crane. The new Government furnished crane is an ABS Classed knuckle boom pedestal crane with a boom/arm combination capable of achieving a 70 foot outreach, Techcrane Model T80-70.
Expectation is that all contract work will be efficiently performed no more than 100 (nautical) miles from the vessels' homeport (Ballard (Hiram M. Chittenden) Locks, Seattle, Washington) and only protected water transits are possible. The M/V PUGET shall not transit outside the Puget Sound/Strait of Juan De Fuca protected waters area for this work.
The Contractor shall perform the following work:
• Remove and dispose of the existing Link Belt HC-218 lattice boom crane.
• Fabricate and install a foundation and modify its supporting ship structure to support the loads from the new Techcrane Model T80-70 pedestal crane according to provided contract drawings
• Install the new Techcrane T80-70 pedestal crane
The Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, fittings, equipment, tools, power, etc. to perform all work specified above and complete all work approximately 180 calendar days after notice to proceed (NTP).
Liquidated Damages will be associated with this procurement. Bonding will be required.
