Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Thermo Electron North America LLC., for a maintenance agreement for Thermo Fisher Scientific Laboratory Equipment(s). This maintenance agreement for the Thermo Fisher Scientific mass spectrometers and other equipment(s) (i.e., autosamplers, pumps, GCs, ICs,  evaporators, PDAs, liquid handlers, incubator, and matrix systems) serves to keep all instruments running optimally while eliminating costly repairs due to damaged or malfunctioning equipment. The work to be performed consists of telephone support, on-site maintenance and repairs by qualified, factory certified/authorized service engineers, priority response time, and coverage of any and all parts, travel to CDC, labor costs, and software/firmware updates and support. The contract covers preventative and remedial maintenance of the Thermo Fisher Scientific mass spectrometers and components attached to these instruments, including GCs, pumps, autosamplers, and PDAs, as well as other Thermo Fisher Scientific equipment including liquid handlers, evaporators, incubators, and matrix systems for the CDC/NCEH/Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS). The equipment that will be covered on this contract must be serviced by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) which is the only source with the capability to provide all of the government requirements.  

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.  

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within thirteen (13) days of the issuance of this notice will considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at ehu0@cdc.gov by12:00 pm on May 31, 2022.
