Description

Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Product Manager, Clothing and Equipment (Pd.M. C&E), has a requirement to perform a Product Improvement (PIP) to the current MCCUU with Berry Amendment compliant fabric with a level of Flame Resistance (FR) and increased signature management through Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) camouflage and improvements in breathability, comfort and durability to modernize and increase the capabilities of the current uniform. The NEXGEN MCCUU will be constructed in the Marine Corps Tropical Combat Uniform (MCTCU) blouse (MIL-DTL-32686) and trouser (MIL-DTL-32688) garment design/patterns utilizing the improved fabric from this effort. The NEXGEN MCCUU is a phased approach to update and modernize the seabag-issued combat uniform. The first phase will be a fabric technology evaluation, selecting up to six (6) fabrics that meet the specified performance requirements in accordance with the Statement of work and NEXGEN MCCUU Fabric Salient Characteristic Requirements to be evaluated in a Limited User Evaluation (LUE). The second phase, subject to need and availability of funds, will down select to one or two successful fabric technologies that Pd.M. C&E will evaluate in a large-scale User Evaluation (UE). Pd.M. C&E will then develop a Supply Readiness Package (SRP) for the new down selected technology to upgrade the existing MCCUU though Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for sustained procurement.
