Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Illumina NS1000

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Illumina, Inc., 5200 Illumna Way, San Diego, CA  92122-4616 because after searching for other vendors, CDC found that Illumina is the only distributor that sells and services NextSeq sequencer. As a result the equipment quote is only available from the company contact and no other vendors were considered.

CDC believes that Illumina, Inc. is the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This contract action is for a supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)  and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 423490- “Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers”. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response must be emailed to contract specialist Alverta Lopez at qvb0@cdc.gov by 5:00PM, August 31, 2022.  The Contracting Specialist will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing.
