REQUEST FOR INFORMATION / SOURCES SOUGHT for TPX OR Hand Drills, Brand-Name or Equal DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, VISN 23 Source Sought: The VA is seeking business sources qualified to provide some, or all, of the items listed below as Brand Name or Equal. This is NOT a solicitation. INTERESTED SOURCES SHALL RESPOND BY: Please submit response no later than 10:00am CST Tuesday, November 26, 2024 All responses and questions must be emailed to Alberta.Mickells@va.gov and must include in the subject line: Sources Sought TPX OR HAND Drills 36C26325Q0195 POTENTIAL SOURCES SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN THEIR RESPONSE: 1. Company name, address, phone number, primary contact(s), e-mail address. 2. State if your firm distributes the Brand Name items, or Equal items. 3. SAM UEI number. 4. NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code 339112 that your firm can provide Brand Name or Equal TPX OR Hand Drills 5. REQUIRED ITEM and Salient Characteristics: Contractor shall provide BD brand-name only TPX OR HAND Drills equipment and it must be compatible with the current system in use by the Iowa City VA Medical Center: Functional/Performance/Specification General Equipment Name: OR Hand Drills Description & Salient Characteristics OR Hand Drills are a commonly used surgical instrument for orthopedic and trauma procedures. Drill speed must be a maximum of 50,000 RPM. Must have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Attachments and batteries must be capable of quick attach and detach. Weight of drills must be between 2-3 pounds. Sagittal saw must include a rotating, indexing head for maximum blade positions. Must have an integrated safety mechanism to prevent accidental activation. Must be capable of withstanding autoclave sterilization. No tools required to load burs or blades. Power system must be operational with hand switch and/or foot pedal. Must be compatible with CORE console. Must have a removeable hand switch allowing the same handpiece to be used for multiple functions. Must have a dedicated wire driver allowing surgeons to grab wire with 60% less exposure. Cord must have a stick resistant coating. Hand switch must be made of metal. Must have a run/safe switch.
