Major Work Elements

  1. Water Well
    1. Install new 6” water well with industry standard steel casing to a sufficient depth capable of maintaining approximately 10 gallons per minute (GPM) flow to an existing on-site storage tank and existing livestock water tank with non-potable water from the aquifer system below.
    2. Install drive shoe, conductor seal, new well pump and control system.
    3. Flow meter, water softener, and filtration are NOT required.
  2. Electrical
    1. Water well will be powered by an existing pole mounted transformer located across the street.
    2. Provide new power supply wires and route overhead to an existing wooden pole located adjacent to the existing storage tank.
    3. Provide transition down pole to underground.
    4. Provide new electrical disconnect located near the well or at power pole and trench new wiring as needed.
  3. Plumbing
    1. Reduce piping sizes on the 4-inch outlet from tank to 2-inch and replace the existing gate valve with a brass ball valve and match piping to existing connections.
    2. Install new 2-inch brass wye strainers inline on both outlets after the valves. Rearrange piping as needed.
    3. Modify piping to existing booster pump.  Match reduced piping to existing booster pump piping. Provide valves and piping for a bypass of the booster pump.  Bypass features shall be galvanized steel with brass valves, installed above grade.  Above grade protective box to be modified as needed to accommodate bypass piping or replaced with new.
    4. Replace above ground portions of 1-inch booster pump piping with 1-inch galvanized streel piping
    5. Provide approximately 120-feet of flexible 1-inch piping, approved for direct burial, from the existing storage tank outlet under the road through an existing 4-inch steel pipe sleeve (piping from former well) to a location adjacent to the train tracks.
    6. Provide appropriately sized new piping from new well to existing pressure/storage tank.
