Description
1.0 GENERAL: This is a non-personal services contract to perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) Repair Service for Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), model number JSM-IT500LA, Serial #MP1383000780078. The Government will not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government.
1.1 Scope: The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, quality control, and other items and nonpersonal services necessary to perform services as defined in this PWS, except for those items specified as government furnished. The Contractor shall perform to the standards of this contract.
1.2 Background: Material Engineering Branch (MER) use the scanning electron microscope (SEM) / energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) instrument: to support the Accident Investigation Branch (AIB) forensic failure analysis program for rotary wing aircraft; perform chemical analysis to determine alloy composition for finite particle analysis for chip-lights, screens and filters; and provide critical production support for engine test cells, flight test and incoming field samples.
