Description

Summary: As part of the continuing need to remove, remediate, or abate the asbestos the VAMHCS has the need for a contractor [Veterans Affairs Professional Industrial Hygienist (VPIH/CIH)] to be an independent party for validating environmental conditions related to the work, and specifically related to the work of the Prime or sub-contractor asbestos abatement contractor, or any asbestos related work done in-house for which VPIH/CIH monitoring is required. This contractor (VPIH/CIH) is working for and on behalf of the VAMHCS. Description of Work: The VPIH/CIH will provide Industrial Hygienists and Project Monitoring services including air monitoring and testing for asbestos during renovation and/or remodeling projects at the VAMHCS. The VPIH/CIH Firm will conduct project planning, oversight and air monitoring during asbestos response actions at the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS). This shall include but may not be limited to: preliminary asbestos assessments, asbestos sampling and analysis, analytical data review, asbestos survey reporting, abatement design, assist in bid process, attending project meetings, on-site visual inspections, contractor compliance monitoring, collection of area air samples prior to work, during abatement activities and at the completion for determination clearance for re-occupancy and development of a final close out report. Interested & Capable Responses: NCO 5 is seeking responses from entities that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources, capabilities and qualifications necessary to perform at the Perry Point, MD and Loch Raven, MD VA Medical Centers. Capability statement and summary of previous experience providing these types of services for the Veterans Health Administration or other similar facilities & equipment. 3.
