Description
Upgrade to an existing 3D LDA/PDA System with Time-Resolved Particle Image Velocimeter IAW Statement of Work
The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a non-competitive award to DANTEC DYNAMICS INC for the purchase of an upgrade to an existing 3D LDA/PDA System with Time-Resolved Particle Image Velocimeter IAW Statement of Work. The equipment and services will be delivered directly to the USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF), 270 Kirkbride Lane, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401. The delivery date is August 15, 2024.
DANTEC DYNAMICS INC is the only known source that has the required equipment and services that meet the government's minimum needs. The equipment and services will be used to complete the HIF function as the main USGS calibration laboratory of water measurement sensors and meters. This function supports the essential work of the USGS Water Science Centers. The equipment can be used to collect high-frequency/ high-resolution 3D water velocity measurements both at a point and within a small sampling volume around the sensors and meters. This high-frequency/ high-resolution data give scientist spatially dense, time-constrained data that cannot be collected in a more scientifically sound, cost- and time-efficient way. The collected data will be used by the USGS, usually in cooperation with Federal, state, and local water resource experts, to gain a greater understanding of the water flow characteristics to support water quantity/ quality management for drinking water sources, recreational uses, and aquatic ecosystem health.
In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.501(a).
