Description

THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice.

Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement for the upcoming Mid-Term Availability (MTA) for the USNS KANAWHA (T-AO 196). The period of performance for this requirement is on/about 16 JANUARY 2024 for a period of seventy-six (76) calendar days.

The USNS KANAWHA has a length of 677.5 ft. and a beam of 97.5 ft., an anticipated arrival draft of 20 ft. FWD and 27 ft. AFT not including a minimum draft clearance of three (3) feet beneath the keel at mean lower low water (MLLW) (tide ranges may be considered), and is 20,706 tons gross. The work is to be performed at the Contractor’s facility on or about the above-mentioned dates. Area of Consideration is East/Gulf Coast.

Major work items associated with this availability include: General Services For Ship, Clean And Gas Free Tanks, Voids, Cofferdams, And Spaces, Tank Deck Overhead Preservation - Fr 20-34, Tank Preservation, STBD ER Beige Preservation, Replace ME Turbo Chargers, Port ME Clutch and Coupling Overhaul, ME Air Coolers clean, Refrigeration System Groom , LP Air Piping system Replace FWD of FR 60, HPAC Bottom end service 18K hours, Pump Overhaul, Window Re-gasketing and steel repairs, and Engine Room Supply Plenum Insulation Renewal.

The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 18 June 2023. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted at (www.sam.gov) under solicitation number N3220523R4220.

A Sources Sought Notice was posted on SAM.gov on 28 March 2023 with a response date of 14 April 2023. As a result of said notice, this requirement will be solicited as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation in response to the solicitation which shall be considered by MSC.

All requests must provide UEID number and Cage Code.

The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from this potential source as a result of synopsis.
