Description
This requirement is to upgrade the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) building's electrical infrastructure and replace old electrical components. The AOML building is located on Virginia Key, near Miami, FL. The main building consists of roughly 78,000 feet of office, laboratory, workshop, machinery, and storage space. There is also a 3,000 square foot warehouse and boat storage area behind the main building.
This project includes the following requirements:
- Systematically replace old electrical components to upgrade the building’s electrical infrastructure
- Replacement/Repair of Transformers
- Grounding and Bonding
- Replace Electrical Panelboards
- General Electrical work

The Government anticipates the award of a Firm-Fixed-Priced contract awarded competitively in accordance with FAR Part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 238210 – Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation, with a corresponding small business size standard of $19.0M. Magnitude of Construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
The anticipated Period of Performance (POP) is 365 calendar days after issuance of a Notice to Proceed (NTP).
All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response to the forthcoming solicitation which shall be considered by the agency.
The anticipated Request for Proposal issuance date is around July 24, 2024. The anticipated proposal due date is on or about August 23, 2024.
