Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command -Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC)  intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Gentex Corp, located at 324 N. Main St, Carbondale, PA, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1).  The requirement is for 50 Enhanced Combat Helmets (ECHs) to investigate the efficacy of aerogels in reducing back face deformation (BFD) and behind helmet blunt trauma (BHBT) during blunt impact or ballistic events when used in a full helmet system.

Due to all previous testing done with Gentex ECHs to establish baseline performance, the purchase must be for the Gentex brand in order to have comparable data. Due to differences in helmet material and manufacturing methods, comparisons between two brands of helmets cannot be drawn.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339113 and the size standard is 750 employees.

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.  No solicitation document is available.
