Description

Request for Information

This is a request for Information (RFI) issued by Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (“FRA”), manager and operator of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (“FERMILAB”), under its Prime Contract Number DE-AC02-07CH11359 with the United States Department of Energy (“DOE”). FRA is leading the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Project to enable a world-class program in neutrino physics.

Background

The LBNF project (httpsw://lbnf-dune.fnal.gov/) will provide facilities to enable a world-class program in neutrino physics that can measure fundamental physical parameters, explore physics beyond the Standard Model, and better elucidate the nature of matter and anti-matter. Specifically, the LBNF Project will build a new high-intensity neutrino beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory aimed at the LBNF Far Site, located at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, South Dakota, 1,300 km away, where the associated Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) will build a neutrino detector, known as the Far Detector. DUNE will also build a neutrino detector at Fermilab, known as the Near Detector, to characterize the neutrino beam as it leaves Fermilab. The experiment will be optimized for precision measurement of neutrino oscillations with the goal of searching for charge parity-violation in the neutrino sector, as well as making other precision oscillation measurements.

Far Site Construction

Fermi Research Alliance’s Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Project requests your valuable input. Please see attached documents regarding grooved pipe couplers for the Far Site liquid Argon service pipe.

All responses to this RFI should be submitted by electronic mail to schmitzc@fnal.gov by 3:00P.M. CST on December 16, 2022.

This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Quote (RFQ) and no submissions will be accepted as official offers for a contract. FRA will not reimburse respondents for any expenses associated with this RFI.
