Description
NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) plans to issue a NASA Research Announcement (NRA) to support research on the use of V-Band relay networks to transmit large volumes of science and Earth remote sensing data to users with low latency.
Scientific and Earth remote sensing missions are primary users of Earth-proximity space-relay communication services. These missions support several vital capabilities including but not limited to climate monitoring, resource management, oceanography, and disaster response.
As sensing technologies develop, the data volume needs for remote sensing missions are drastically increasing. Likewise, the need for scientists to receive data in near-real-time is also increasing. These two key factors may require the development of high-speed, low-latency communication systems.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
This acquisition is a total small business set-aside.
The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541715 and 1,000 employees, respectively.
The anticipated release date of the NRA is on or about 6/28/2024 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 08/16/2024.
All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at : https://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/procurement/regs/Procurement-Ombuds-Comp-Advocate-Listing.pdf.
