Question: We would like to know the model year of the Boston Whaler? Answer: 1996 Boston Whaler Guardian.
The 22' Boston Whaler NOAA small boat (Zostera III) has minor damage to the gelcoat of its fiberglass hull in approximately 18 locations. This damage has accumulated over time and repairs have been deferred for several years due to a lack of available funds and COVID-19 related restrictions. Repairing this damage will help maintain the integrity and utility of the asset and will likely avoid more costly repairs in the future. Currently the small boat is on a trailer in storage at the Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI) located at, 820 S Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731.
- The contractor will provide services to safely tow the small boat from the California Marine Institute (SCMI) located at, 820 S Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731 to the vendor’s designated repair shop location.
- Complete repairs to hull damages within the scope of work of this requirement and within the period of performance.
- Allow the NOAA NMFS WCR representative to inspect the completed repairs for acceptance. The inspection can either be done remotely over a video call or in person by the NOAA NMFS WCR representative together with the contractor’s repair technician. Repairs found not acceptable by the NOAA NMFS WCR representative during the inspection shall be redone by the contractor.
- Once repairs are completed, inspected, and accepted, the contractor will provide services to safely tow the small boat from the contractor’s repair shop back to the Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI) located at, 820 S Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731.
Period of Performance: Approximately 09/26/2022 to 09/25/2023
Boat towing services to and from the repair shop and the Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI) located at, 820 S Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731. Towing services shall be included in the total firm-fixed price.
