Description

It is necessary to purchase four (4) powered emergency evacuation chairs to allow the safe and expedient evacuation of mobility-impaired personnel in the sub-basement and basement areas of the building. During emergency evacuations, the use of elevators is restricted, and personnel evacuating from the areas of the building below ground will be required to use stairs. The non-powered evacuation chairs currently in use at the Weaver Building are only designed to be used to go down stairs. The Government requires a battery-powered emergency evacuation chair designed to safely transport personnel up the stairs to an egress point at ground level.
