Intent to Sole Source - Crane Repair

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure this requirement on a single source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Service Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. 

The Government has a need for repair of oversize crane.  The hydraulic fluid overheats causing operational problems.  In addition, the electronic controls inside the operator's station does not work.  

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm, fixed-price contract with Appleton Marine, Inc, 3030 E. Pershing St. Appleton, WI 54911 USA. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811310 with a size standard not to exceed $8 million.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
