Description

The Department of the Air Force (DAF) has a requirement in support of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Readiness Directorate for the procurement of a small Uncrewed Aircraft System (sUAS) in support of the Rapid Airfield Damage Assessment System (RADAS). The RADAS is utilized to assess airfields damaged after attack. It collects and live- feeds photos and videos of the airfield operating surfaces to a ground control station (GCS) for analysis and selection of the Minimum Airfield Operating Surface (MAOS). sUAS are identified as one means of data collection. Data may be fused from sUAS, fixed sensors, and personnel driving the airfield operating surfaces. sUAS data (telemetry, photographs, videos) are integrated with the Geo-spatial Expeditionary Planning Tool (GeoExPT) Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) Synchronization (GAS) application. This enables live consumption of data, provides a chat function, and provides data backup. The intent is to eventually award a contract to procure production of approximately 24-31 sUAS kits built to government specifications and shipped to specified locations.
