Description

CLIN 0001: Qty one (1) vector network analyzer (VNA) to investigate the electromagnetic properties of materials samples. Experiments of interest include free space measurement of scattering (S-) parameters and dielectric properties as a function of frequency and temperature. The Contractor shall provide one (1) VNA that meets the minimum requirements.

Specifications and Requirements:

  1. The VNA shall have a benchtop form factor with its own integrated display screen.
  2. The VNA shall have a frequency range of at least 10 megahertz (MHz) to 43.5 gigahertz (GHz). The frequency range shall include the X band and the K-above (Ka) band.
  3. The VNA shall have a dynamic range of at least 128 decibels (dB).
  4. The VNA shall have an output power of at least 12 decibel-milliwatts (dBm).
  5. The VNA shall have four (4) ports.
  6. The VNA shall have 2.4 millimeter (mm) connectors.
  7. The VNA shall be capable of time domain analysis. The Contractor shall provide any hardware and/or software options required for time domain analysis.
  8. The Contractor shall provide a calibration unit and any hardware and/or software options required for automatic calibration. The calibration unit shall cover the entire frequency range of the VNA. The calibration unit shall have 2.4 mm female connectors.
  9. The Contractor shall provide software for interfacing with the VNA to analyze S-parameters and calculate dielectric properties. The software shall support transmission line and free space measurement methods.
