Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice.

This project will be announced as W912DR22R0027.

Project Title: Decommissioning and Dismantlement Activites for the SM-1A Reactor Facility Located at Fort Greely, Alaska

The proposed procurement is anticipated to be competed under Full and Open Competition un NAICS Code 562910, Remediation Services, with a size standard of $22,000,000.

Project Description: 

The anticipated work for this procurement decommissioning and dismantlement activies for the SM-1A Deactived Nuclear Power Plant located at Fort Greely, Alaska. This includes byproduct materials produced as a result of SM-1A operations at locations where facility equipment or materials were utilized within For Greely, Alaska. Work includes:

1) Prepare plans that will support the decommissioning of the SM-1A Reactor Facility in accordance with this PWS
and the ARO Decommissioning Permit;

2) Decommission/dispose of materials in accordance with final plans, decommissioning permits, and relevant
Federal and State requirements;

3) Perform and document the necessary post-decommissioning radiological surveys to demonstrate all affected
areas of Fort Greely are suitable for unrestricted release; and 

4) Adherence to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Army, as well as other relevant Federal/State
permits, standards, and guidance.

The anticipated period of performance for this acquisition is 72 months from date of award. 

A site visit has been planned for 2-4 March 2022. Details regarding this site visit will be forthcoming in next few days.

The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge on or around 11 February 2022 on SAM.gov. Please note that all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers acquisitions are controlled unclassified documents. 

The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation will be the Internet only. This solicitation will not be issued in paper. No phone or fax request for copy of the solicitation will be accepted. Submission of proposal packages can be submitted after the solicitation announcement.
