Description

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.

The Library of Congress is hereby issuing a Request for Information (RFI) from all potential sources, small-businesses, and large-businesses, to provide information regarding commercial solution(s) to the below requirement:

The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to maintain its Sondor Film Sound Reproducer. The Library's Packard Campus Film Preservation Laboratory (NAVCC), located in Culpeper, VA, uses the Sondor, manufactured by Sondor of Switzerland (now a division of DFT of Darmstadt, Germany), to reproduce sound recordings for motion pictures. These sound recordings can be either magnetic film or optical sound recording film and can be either 16mm or 35mm. The Reproducer requires a factory trained engineer from Sondor to maintain, upgrade and repair the equipment.

The Library intends to purchase a maintenance support plan for its Sondor Film Sound Reproducer serial number 1522 and obtain preventative maintenance on the equipment. This contract will be for one (1) base year plus up to two (2) option years.

Interested parties are requested to provide information on their solution that meets the requirements listed in the attached Draft Statement of Work and to provide information on the company’s capability (personnel, facilities, resources, technology, and expertise) to provide such services.

Specifically, parties are requested to provide the following information (as applicable):

  1. Company name
  2. Company address
  3. Primary company contact(s) and associated email addresses
  4. Company website
  5. Company CAGE Code
  6. Personnel/Staff expertise, including resumes
  7. Estimated price
  8. Any other information deemed applicable by the interested party

Interested parties shall submit the above requested information to James Robinson, Contracting Officer at jarobinson@loc.gov and to Brian Curl, Contract Specialist at bcurl@loc.gov before the closing date of this RFI.

Responses to this RFI are limited to 20 pages in length.

Parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary and/or competition sensitive information that is contained within their submission.

Submissions in response to this RFI are due no later than 5/27/2022 at 5 PM ET.

This RFI is for Library informational/planning purposes only. This announcement is not a request for proposal; it does not constitute any form of solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Library. Any submissions in response to this RFI are not an offer nor proposal and the Library is under no obligation to make any award as a result of this announcement. No funds will be provided by the Library to pay for preparation of submissions in response to this announcement. All responses to this RFI are strictly voluntary.
