Description

The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a single source acquisition to L3Harris Technologies of a system upgrade to existing PRC-117G's to support Gen 6 aircraft communications, including MUOS and SATURN capabilities. The software required for this upgrade is developed by and proprietary to L3Harris technology - who is the sole distributor. 

The required items/services to be purchased are: 

P/N 12043-8995-0011, SW, Radio Option, SATURN
P/N 12043-8995-0012 SW, Radio Option, MUOS, Field-Installed
P/N 12006-8020-02, Kit, MUOS, Di-plexer, VEH PRC-117G

APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY:   

This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b):  Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 19 August 2024 at 1200 EST.
