Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR BIDS. PLANS AND SPECIFICATION ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
The project is located approximately 33 miles southwest of King City, CA on Forest Service Route 22S01 (Nacimiento Fergusson Road) within the Los Padres National Forest in Monterey, CA.
The project consists of repairing 13 sites, encompassing 11 miles along the route. Site repairs generally include embankment construction, retaining walls, and culvert replacements.
SCOPE OF THE WORK:
The purpose of the project is to repair 13 damaged sites along the Nacimiento Fergusson Road within the Los Padres National Forrest. 7 mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls and 8 drainage culverts are proposed as part of the repair design. Culverts range in size from 24-inch to 72-inch in diameter. Headwalls and wingwalls are proposed on the 72-inch culverts. Furthermore, as a result of the flood event, debris removal and grading are anticipated. Nacimiento Fergusson Road is currently paved and is proposed to be repaved with the existing pavement structural section within the repair sites.
Items worth noting:
*The terrain is mountainous with steep slopes.
*The roadway widths vary from 16-ft to 24-ft.
*The road is currently closed to the public. However, residents along the route do have access.
*The roadway serves as the primary route between King City and the Pacific Coast.
*Access for the residents will be maintained during construction.
*Shoring is anticipated for MSE wall excavations and to allow access.
