Description
This Small Business Set-Aside project consists of, but is not limited to, the demolition, construction, and installation of the following: Whitney Point Dam has a roadway alongside its spillway. During original construction, a concrete crib retaining wall was installed to stabilize the slope adjacent to the roadway. The crib wall is approaching 80 years old, is falling apart, and actions are required to prevent it from collapsing which could also lead to stability problems in the adjacent slope. The scope of the project is to close the roadway and place earthen fill materials on top of the roadway to buttress the wall (basically bury the wall and continue the slope down instead of keeping the road). Minor work will be included to provide roadway access via a different route since the current roadway will be closed/buried. This approach will be far less expensive than replacement of the wall and is acceptable to the owner. Obtain the necessary permits to perform the work cited above. As a minimum, a permit from the Broome County Soil and Water Conservation District will be required.Amendment 01 will answer questions and post the sign in sheet from the site visit.
