NOTICE FOR SOLICITATION: 47PF0022R0032
DESCRIPTION:
The General Services Administration (GSA), Great Lakes (Region 5), will be issuing a solicitation for general construction services at the Federal Building located at 536 S. Clark St. Chicago, Illinois 60605.
The purpose of this project is to perform terra cotta repairs on various sections of the exterior facade of the building. Contractors would be required to repair the exterior terra cotta masonry which includes the selective demolition and removal of damaged or otherwise deteriorated terra cotta units, the temporary stabilization of remaining exterior facade elements during and after selective demolition, the fabrication of custom terra cotta units to match existing configurations and appearance, the installation of fabricated terra cotta units, joint repointing, joint sealing, and the repair of other minor damage to terra cotta units as indicated on the drawings and specifications. The expected dollar range for this procurement is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The performance period is 450 days upon the receipt of the on-site Notice to Proceed.
Due to the highly technical nature of this procurement, firms will be required to submit a technical package that demonstrates their experience and expertise working with terra cotta removal, repairs and manufacturing, historical renovation and general construction.
Firms will demonstrate this by providing three (3) similar projects that have been completed in the past eight (8) years that demonstrate the ability to remove, repair, treat, manufacture and replace terra cotta. Interested firms will also need to provide a project management plan where they describe their approach to the project, and provide information on key personnel.
The contractor is to provide all management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary for this project. The proposed contract is being solicited as a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction).
