PROJECT NUMBER: CA NP LAVO 10(6)
PROJECT NAME: Sulphur Works Repairs
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The CA NP LAVO 10(6) Sulphur Works Repairs project is located within Lassen Volcanic National Park in Shasta County, California. The project includes embankment slope repair and stabilization consisting of placement of stabilized rock embankment. Additionally, replacement of the damaged concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and wood fencing adjacent to the Sulphur Works site on Lassen Park Road (Route 10) Milepost 1.9 is also proposed. High amounts of snowfall in the winter 2022/2023 and geothermal action resulted in the loss of a portion of the (downhill) concrete curb and sidewalk while creating a void under a portion of the existing concrete slab pavement. The roadway embankment failure at the concrete pavement slab is approximately 35 feet long (along the alignment), up to 4 feet in depth, and extends up to 4 feet under the concrete slab, and up to 50 feet down the slope.
PRINCIPAL WORK ITEMS:
- 1,300 cubic yards of special rock embankment,
- 100 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter,
- 50 square yards of concrete sidewalk,
- 100 tons of roadway aggregate, method 2;
- 100 linear feet of split rail fencing
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE:
The anticipated advertisement date for the project is July 2023 with construction anticipated from September to November 2023.
ESTIMATES COST RANGE:
The estimated price range is between $700,001 and $2,000,000.
