Shredder Preventative Maintenance Svc

SPECIAL NOTICE.  This is a Sole Source requirement.  The United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) is one of six regional Combatant Commands responsible for the command and control of all military operations worldwide.
As such, USSOUTHCOM generates significant amounts of classified and sensitive, but unclassified documents that must be destroyed in accordance with National Security Agency standards. The Security Engineered Machinery (SEM) Model 23/5 Disintegrator, which is currently in operation at USSOUTHCOM, is designed for heavy volume destruction of paper, optical media, key tape, and a variety of media in various waste particle sizes.  The briquettor system produces compact briquettes from the shredded material, thereby reducing waste volume by up to 90%. The objective of the preventive maintenance service is to ensure the disintegrator with briquettor system remains in an operational condition to destroy the Command.s classified and sensitive but unclassified materials daily. Preventive maintenance and blade sharpening services must be conducted quarterly to ensure the proper operation of the equipment. For unforeseen events which cause the disintegrator or briquettor to become inoperative, the Contractor may be required to conduct an emergency or non-emergency call between normally scheduled preventive maintenance service calls.
