Description
The Concrete Batch Plant Site Development consists of the following work tasks and activities: a. Furnish and Install all related erosion and sedimentation controls(E-SC), stormwater management controls, stormwater drainage facilities, including site perimeter bypass flow channel(s), sediment basin / stormwater pond, all related perimeter and in-pad piping, inlets, and outflow aprons and pipe connections, and temporary fencing. b. Perform all related tree cutting, clearing and grubbing, demolition, excavation, providing and installing additional soil (if needed) to rough-grade the site and proper, legal removal and disposal of unacceptable material from the site. c. Provide a compacted aggregate (gravel) final graded surface and perform final grading of the site to the elevations required. d. Remove all related security and protective fencing from above esplanade sloped area, store material that is reusable and provide new (perimeter) fencing of the type and form where shown on contract drawings. e. Provide retaining wall structures along two alignments, to support the developed site, consisting of:(1) One approximately 920 foot long, 12+/- foot high, post and panel retaining wall and transitions to grade along the south side of the site. (2) One approximately 785 foot long, 14+/- foot tall post and panel retaining wall and associated soil anchors, associated access stairways and ramps, and transitions to grade, along the north side of the site (within an existing area of sloped concrete pavers), and removal and replacement of concrete lined ditch and base of wall. f. Provide reinforced concrete transformer pads and accessory items (including all noted conduit penetrations, conduit, grounding, elbows, secondary duct bank, electrical vault) on the site, where designated. Included with the electrical work is continuous SECTION 01 11 00 Page 2100% CERTIFIED FINAL - W911WN23B8001 Montgomery Locks and Dam Concrete Batch Plant Site Development coordination with local power company and maintaining existing electrical service to esplanade during all construction operations for the duration of the period of performance of the contract. g. Construct approximately 215 feet of a 24-foot wide access driveway to the site from an existing adjacent paved roadway (Montgomery Dam Road). h. Rehabilitate approximately 175 feet of existing access roadway (Montgomery Dam Road) leading to the esplanade, including road widening, milling, leveling, paving, removal of old and installation of new guide rail, traffic control. i. Perform all work related to meet other regulatory / permit requirements. j. Construct, transport, place and anchor 29 large and small brush reef bundles using approved tree and brush material from site Clearing and Grubbing Operations. (1) Transport large and small brush reef bundles from the site location to the Montgomery Slough located across the Ohio River from the Montgomery lock and just upstream of the Montgomery Dam. (2) Method of transportation used to Montgomery Slough shall be approved by the Contracting Officer or designated representative.
