Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (DOT/Volpe Center) Cambridge, MA, in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), intends to solicit and award a sole source purchase order to the City and County of San Francisco, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). The Volpe Center has a requirement for power reimbursement for a WindTracer Lidar Installation on property owned by the City and County of San Francisco, CA. As part of the ongoing Research and Development for FAA’s NextGen project, a Lockheed Martin WindTracer Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) will have to be deployed in San Francisco, CA to capture wake vortices from aircraft on Runway 28s at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order as a result of this solicitation. The Base period of performance will be from date of award through September 30, 2022, with four optional CLINs to extend the use of power on this land through September 30, 2026. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 926130. This solicitation will be competed and is set-aside for small businesses. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. The RFQ will be issued in electronic format only and will be available for download via System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov on or about March 15, 2022. In order to receive an award from the Government, an Offeror must be registered in SAM.
