Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT request for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine the following: The interest and capability of small business, especially service-disabled veteran owned small business and veteran owned small business. Whether the business source is a manufacturer or authorized distributor, verified by an authorization letter from the original equipment manufacturer; and Size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 339112 for the proposed acquisition. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10 is seeking potential sources for a the Omnicell IVX Pharmacy Camera System, brand name only, to be provided for the Saginaw VA Medical Center, 1500 Weiss St, Saginaw, MI 48602. All items shall be new; refurbished/used items are not acceptable. Brand name requirements: Workflow pharmacy Camera System is needed For compliance with USP standards. All VA Pharmacies are undergoing systems upgrades to include new automation which improves patient safety by reducing medication errors. This upgrade also aids in employee safety by reducing possible exposure to hazardous medications while performing their daily duties. The IVX workflow Pharmacy Camera System integrates cameras inside laminar airflow hoods and/or isolators with the following features: integrated barcode scanning, gravimetric and/or volumetric verifications, photo documentation, label printing, all-in-one IV workflow design, antimicrobial widescreen display, remote pharmacist checking, HL-7 integration with current pharmacy inter Omnicell IVX workflow system is currently being used by several other VISN 10 sites, it will meet the requirements of the Saginaw VAMC, and also supports VISN efforts to standardize equipment acquisitions throughout the VISN when possible. The Omnicell system interfaces with VISTA and Cerner, so it is future ready for when Cerner is rolled out to this facility. This meets requirements for joint commission, USP 797/800, and ISMP best practices for safe medication polices. Omnicell is the sole producer of this product. This is for the completion and implementation of a major system overhaul of a highly specialized and proprietary nature. Purchase of The Omnicell, Inc. IVX workflow Pharmacy Camera System reduces any substantial duplication of cost for the government by not competing this acquisition. It is the only system that is able to link directly with the current VA Pharmacy infostructure and the Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets, as well as the VA s internal IFCAP and CPRS systems. Should the VA look to another source for this entire pharmaceutical distribution and monitoring platform, it would result in increased costs to the Federal Government and ultimately the taxpayer. This would create unacceptable delays for veterans who depend on the Saginaw VA Pharmacy. Additional information: All contractors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov. Any contractor that believes they are capable and desires to claim preference for small business status must be registered with the SBA and meet the requirements of FAR 19.102.
