The purpose of this third amendment is to answer multiple questions that were posed by interested vendors. Please see the Q's and A's below:
Q: Do you plan to schedule the Rush and STAT routes with just one pickup and one drop off or will there be multiple drop off locations to deliver to at once?
A: Rush and STAT deliveries usually are to one location however there have been instances where drop off to multiple locations is needed. Deliveries are scheduled for the same day.
Q: How far will deliveries be scheduled out and will there be a time limit on deliveries? Same day or week in advance? Requests are unclear.
A: RUSH is within 2 hours of scheduling/calling and STAT deliveries are within 1 hour of scheduling/calling. All deliveries are scheduled for the same day delivery.
Q: Will extra coolers be supplied or is it expected for vendors to provide these coolers? Any requirements for temp control while transporting?
A: All items are appropriately packaged by the laboratory in validated cooler boxes if needed or appropriate packaging. There are no extra requirements for the temperature-controlled items because they are appropriately packaged by the laboratory. The vendor does not need to supply or provide any cooler for shipping.
Q: What kind of vehicles will be required for packaging, typically? Regular car, SUV, 9ft Cargo van or box trucks? Or refrigerated vehicles?
A: All listed vehicles are acceptable for transporting (Regular car, SUV, 9ft Cargo van or box trucks). A refrigerated vehicle is not needed for transport of specimens.
Q: How many drivers can do the job?
A: One driver can do the job.
Q: Who was the previous Awardee for this contract?
A: Previous contract number is FA500019DA004, and can be found on public website FPDS-NG.GOV.

The purpose of this second amendment is to answer two questions that were posed by an interested vendor. Please see the Q's and A's below:
Q: What is the estimated mile/time between the delivery location for each drop and the pickup?
A: Distances can be calculated utilizing Google maps or any other distance calculator. Primary hospitals per the PWS are Alaska Regional Hospital, Blood Bank of Alaska and Providence. However, other locations in the Anchorage area have been used to include the Wasila area, but not commonly.
Q: Is there a specific list of the materials being transported?
A: Blood Samples, Blood and Blood Componetnts for Transfusion, Urine Samples, Tissue Specimens, Stool Specimens, and Sputum Specimesn. This list is not all inclusive but these are the most common materials moved by the courier company.

This solicitation for Medical Courier Services is for all or none.
Please submit quote for individual line items and option years. (1) copy of the pricing schedule must be included with the quote and other pertinent documentation. Please see the attachment titled "Pricing Schedule".
All quotes shall be FOB destination with a PoP starting on Monday January 15, 2024. Include any discounts that may apply.
Quotes are due NLT 12:00 PM AKDT on Friday, November 17, 2023.
