SPECIAL NOTICE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Olympus America for an urgent repair of an Olympus ultrasound machine at the Cleveland VAMC. NAICS Code 811219, size standard $22.0 million. The Government intends, in accordance with FAR 6.302-2 (unusual and compelling urgency), to negotiate on a sole source basis with Olympus America, as they are available to do the emergency work in the short turnaround time required and not allow for patient care to be jeopardized. They also have proprietary right to perform the work. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received NLT 12:00 Eastern on 5/12/2022.
